Swampscott Select Board Approves Trinity Ambulance Deal and $503K Street Contract

SWAMPSCOTT — May 6, 2026 — Swampscott Select Board approves ambulance contract, $502,900 street redesign deal, and five department head employment agreements in wide-ranging May 6 session. The board unanimously approved a one-year agreement with Trinity Ambulance, with up to two renewal options, formalizing an arrangement that had lapsed before Town Administrator Nicholas Connors joined the town; members discussed but did not secure response-time incentives in the contract. A contract with Greenman-Petersen Incorporated for a complete streets redesign of Route 113 was approved at $502,900, funded almost entirely by a $475,000 Housing Works grant, with Wayne Spritz abstaining due to a separate professional relationship with the firm. The board also approved a $39,000 IT management services renewal with Umbral Technologies and employment contracts for Finance Director Patrick Luddy, Treasurer/Collector Liam Braley, Town Clerk Katie Dupont, Director of Community and Economic Development Marzie Galazka, and Director of Public Works Gino Cresta — with Spritz again abstaining, citing his absence from earlier negotiations. Catherine Phelan was re-elected Chair unanimously and Danielle Leonard elected Vice Chair by majority vote over Mary Ellen Fletcher.
